Leaky shower

A basic hotel with modern facilities in a very nice small town. We only spent one night there and would spend another if we found ourselves in the area. The hotel is very convenient for access to both Biboa and Santander.

Very clean modern hotel. Helpful staff who also speak a good level of English. Excellent tapas at the bar. Great for spa treatments too. Overall an excellent hotel in a lovely little village. Would definitely stay here again.

Only one small negative - the breakfast coffee wasn't very hot!

The hotel is conveniently located near Gorbea Natural Park, perfect for those who enjoy hiking and nature. The spa offers a range of relaxing treatments, including mineral waters for dermatological and rheumatic issues. The Lur restaurant serves delicious Basque dishes. Free parking and Wi-Fi are available.

Just a tiny drawback, I couldn't find any mycology lovers club meetings during my stay. Disappointing!

Very smart hotel. Friendly helpful reception staff, with good standard of English Clean, spacious, uncluttered, practical rooms. Loved the underfloor heating. Free parking on-site. The option of reasonably priced, though not gastronomically mindblowing buffet dinner. Can't comment on the breakfast as we made our own arraignments. Not sure if the empty fridge in our room was supposed to be a mini bar or not, but we found it useful anyway. Free functional Wifi in rooms. Quiet location, the only noise we could hear from outside was the cow bells jingling in the nearby fields. The noise insulation between the rooms is less effective though - amorous couples take note ;)

A little bit far from Bilbao - a car is a must. Yet another inaccurate Booked.net location map icon (possibly not the hotel's fault - but don't bother trying to use it as a navigation aid - the hotel's on the main road at the northern edge of the town). A strange drain-like smell some areas of the hotel. This maybe a one off problem, poss due to intense rain during our stay.

The room at Hotel Balneario Areatza Nº 01224 was incredibly spacious with all the amenities you could need. The cozy double bed ensured a restful night's sleep, and the free WiFi was a great bonus. As a family with children, we loved the air conditioning and heating, which kept us comfortable throughout our stay. The desk was perfect for setting up our laptops and getting some work done. the room felt like a home away from home, making our stay even more enjoyable.

Personally, I found the private bathroom equipped with a bath and a hairdryer to be a bit outdated. However, I understand that others may still appreciate these features and find them useful.

The views, the town, the staff, the room, pretty much everything was cool.

Spent Xmas here and it was lovely! The spa was the highlight with a variety of treatments and a friendly receptionist. The room was clean and modest with comfortable beds. The location, although rural, was perfect for hiking and enjoying the beautiful landscape. , the breakfast offered a variety of fresh pastries and fruits.

The walls were thin and we could hear the cows from the adjacent field which interrupted our sleep.

Everything! Very clean, friendly staff, good breakfast. Didn't try evening meal. Handy for visiting Bilbao, the coast and the Rioja wine area.

We had an amazing stay at Balneario Areatza Nº 01224! The value for money was outstanding, and the room was impeccably clean with a relaxing bath. The location was perfect for visiting Bilbao or Vitoria, and the village itself was charming with beautiful scenery. The staff treated us incredibly well, even allowing us to bring our dog along for the stay.

The hotel breakfast menu could use a few more vegan options.

The spa. The location was convenient to our needs. The staff was very attentive including the chambermaid and the spa rep - Rocio.

No active internet during our 3 night stay... The selection of the dinner buffet changed for the worse from the time we decided to eat until we went there half an hour later. Lots of flies in the room.

Amazing location near Bilbao and Vitoria. Charming village with nice terraces and good food. Excellent hospitality and professional service. Well-maintained modern spa with historical significance. Parking and a river for nature walks. Great value for money. Dog-friendly accommodation. Friendly staff and good bar snacks.
